Glock passed fit to race in Hungary

Toyota driver Timo Glock has been passed fit to race in the Hungarian Grand Prix, the FIA confirmed in a statement on Friday morning.

Glock spent a night in hospital after suffering a big crash in the German Grand Prix, and he needed to pass a mandatory medical examination before being allowed to compete at the Hungaroring.

A statement from the FIA's F1 medical delegate and chief medical officer, issued on Friday, said: "Following his accident in the 2008 German Grand Prix the driver of car 12 Timo Glock has been examined by us and passed fit to take part in the Hungarian Grand Prix."

Glock said the biggest problem since the accident was not his fitness but the interest from the media.

"Maybe too many interviews and stuff like this," he explained about the after effects of the crash. "But at the end I am okay. I did the test in Jerez without any problems, 80 laps or 78 laps without any problems."
