The flamboyant Italian, who is set to take on a revised role at his French car manufacturer next year, told Italian media on Saturday evening that he expected to walk away from the sport in 2010.
When asked by reporters if he could ever see himself working for Ferrari, Briatore was quoted as saying by Reuters: "I like to beat Ferrari but when my team doesn't win, being Italian, I obviously support Ferrari.
"But I don't think I will go to work at Maranello, especially as in two years I will stop."
Briatore has spent much of this season pondering whether to recommit to Renault, and told Autosport earlier this year that he wanted F1's own future to be sorted out before he made his own mind up about what to do.
